A weekend of cuddles

Ready to leave, our destination just around the corner

Sometimes we see a holiday as going to someplace far away, that you reach by plane, by boat, or, anyway, quite a few hours travel away. Luckily we sometimes realize that a less stressful solution and also cheaper, is just a short way from home. I found it in Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Salvore, Croazia.

Just an hour’s car drive from Trieste, I discovered a wonderful place where I spent unforgettable days. Outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a spa which also has treatments for children, a private beach, restaurants on the sea, tennis and golf courts. Everything surrounded by a fantastic frame of land and sea.

Kissed by Croatia’s sun, in between a massage and a swim in the pool, we let ourselves be spoilt by the calmness and the excellent service of the place.

For dinner I suggest leaving the structure to discover some typical Gostilna (restaurant/trattoria in Croatian) of the area, where you’ll surely find a nice plate of grilled scampi or the classic ćevapčići (small meat sausages, typical of the Balkan peninsula). Another great dish is, also typical of the area, tagliolini with truffle that grows abundant in this land.

So as you see, it’s not always necessary to go looking for some impossible destination to get away from everyday life. Sometimes you can find a small paradise just around the corner, where you can relax without facing the ordeal of a long journey. Mine was Salvore. I’m sure you have one too, and if you haven’t found it yet, it’s time to go looking for it…

Hope you discover it soon and have a great break!!
