Paris: new fashion seen at Maison&Object

The latest Parisian trends in the industry of furnishing and decor

From the 20th ‘till the 24th of January Paris hosted the Maison&Object fair, that like the Salone del Mobile in Milano (of which I’ll tell you about in April), is a must to understand which of the trend of the moment in the world of the furnishing industry, of internal design and accessories that we can’t miss out on.

This year the guests were many and in the eight labyrinth-like pavilions of the Parc des Exposition di Villepinte, just on the outskirts of Paris, the best companies in the world displayed their new products.

Finally, after years of dominating minimalist, a new trend has started with stuffed and more rounded furniture, soft and embracing, with new detailed proportions and especially colour colour colour, in all the shades I told you about in the article “colours and wall paper: here are a few suggestions”.

Natural and valuable material like marble, tropical wood, metal, bronze, velvet and leather, blend in a game of sophisticated and luxurious combinations with explicit connections to the lines of the 50s, especially in seating and lighting.

The bathroom has a more important role, it’s not simply a small utility room but a large and refined room where a freestanding bathtub sits near an armchair and a fireplace; a place for relaxing, living and sharing.

Imperative for this 2017: free your wish to show off, without forgetting taste and sophistication.

And if you want to stand out even more, think about a marble cover for your smartphone, or a slate cover for your Ipad, cut in super technological thin sheets that bend like a piece of paper
